Taking a Payment Using a Mobile Card Reader with CardPointe

This article will cover how to take credit card payment using a CardPointe SDKs. The terminal connects via Bluetooth ONLY to Android or iOS devices.

Video Tutorial

Take a Payment and Include Sharable PDF Document:

1. Open an order and tap

     Tip: Taking a signature is optional. If signature is given it is simply applied to the PDF document. Tap Accept to continue with or without one.

2. Select entry method: Insert/Swipe Card
3. Make sure the bolt mobile terminal is turned on. A flashing blue light indicates it's ready.
4. Tap button with the icon and say Start Card Reader.

     Tip: If your device was connected with a Bolt terminal use the side menu and select Switch to Vivo Card Reader
   
   

5. The card reader serial number will display on Payment Screen when it has connected.
6. Insert or swipe card. Chip side of card should face same as "ID Tech" logo on the terminal.
7. The screen will indicate when the reading is complete and the card can be removed.
8. Enter the payment amount, along with the billing zip code, and then tap Collect on the app screen to complete the transaction.
9. You can Email, Print, or Save the PDF Document at this point and it will include payment

Take a Payment without Shareable PDF Document:

1. Open an order and tap
2. Select entry method: Insert/Swipe Card
3. Make sure the bolt mobile terminal is turned on. A flashing blue light indicates it's ready.
4. Tap button with the icon and say Start Card Reader.

     Tip: If your device was connected with a Bolt terminal use the side menu and select Switch to Vivo Card Reader
   
   

5. The card reader serial number will display on Payment Screen when it has connected.
   

6. Insert or swipe card. Chip side of card should face same as "ID Tech" logo on the terminal.
7. The screen will indicate when the reading is complete and the card can be removed.
8. Enter the payment amount (a) along with the billing zip code (b) and then tap Collect (c) on the app screen to complete the transaction.
   
9. Once processed the receipt will be sent to the store and payment receipt will be displayed.
